You say it will stop a supersonic bullet, but all your sample photos are with a BB. What gives?
I’d love to have sample shots with a real bullet. The reason I haven’t is because I’m in the UK, which has some of the tightest firearms laws in the world. At this point you’re probably asking how I know it will stop a bullet if I haven’t tested it with one. The answer is because I have measured the light output using extremely accurate optical equipment and know that the quoted pulse widths are accurate. Specifically I use a Thorlabs DET10A photodetector, coupled with a Rigol DS1052E oscilloscope. So, if I’m confident the quoted pulse widths are correct, how does that translate into stopping power? Let’s do the maths. For our example, let’s assume a muzzle velocity of 1000 m/s, which is approximately the muzzle velocity of an M16 rifle. That translates to 3280 fps or Mach 2.94. 1000 m/s is equal to 1mm/microsecond. Our shortest pulse is half a microsecond, meaning that an M16 bullet will travel half a millimetre during the exposure. This would give negligible motion blur. I hope that clears things up! I’ll post in more detail about my testing setup in a later update, including waveforms from the scope. I am also trying to work out a way of testing this with real guns. My best bet is to work with a gun club, where a member with a firearm certificate could work with me. What exposure settings will I need to use this? What is the GN for the flash? How about the colour temperature, CRI etc?

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
